Alfred P. Gillikin

Alfred Potter Gillikin, 93, of 108 Park Lane, Hagerstown, died Tuesday, June 20, 2000, at Washington County Hospital.

Born Nov. 17, 1906, in Vandemere, N.C., he was the son of the late Oliver Allen and Mollie Potter Gillikin.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Louise Gillikin, in 1986.

He was employed by O.P.O. Clothiers, retiring in 1962.

He was a member of John Wesley United Methodist Church.

He was a member of Alsatia Club.

He is survived by a niece, Ann Pulley of Richmond, Va.

Services will be Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd. in Hagerstown. The Rev. F. Richard Leslie will officiate.

Graveside services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Greenmount Cemetery in Queen Anne, Md.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to John Wesley United Methodist Church, 129 N. Potomac St., Hagerstown, MD 21740.

Evelyn M. Seibert

Evelyn Manzella Martz Seibert, 81, of 12 S. Walnut St., Hagerstown, died Monday, June 19, 2000, at Washington County Hospital.

Born April 18, 1919, in Roxbury, she was the daughter of the late Lester Ray and Minnie Alta Biddle Martz.

She was a homemaker.

She was a former member of Halfway Baptist Church.

She is survived by a daughter, Patricia A. Knapp of Hagerstown; a son, Gary E. Seibert of Baltimore; three sisters, Wanda Knode of Leitersburg, Mabel Wade of Raleigh, N.C. and Hilda Rubeck of Five Forks, Pa.; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Nellie Cramer; and two brothers, Lloyd Martz and Paul Martz.

Services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Bast Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike in Boonsboro. Burial will be in Boonsboro Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Thursday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Patricia A. Knapp, 13715 Lois St., Hagerstown, MD 21742.

Joan L. McCleary

Joan L. McCleary, 63, formerly of South Mountain, Pa. and Hagerstown, died Monday, June 19, 2000, at Chambersburg (Pa.) Hospital.

Born April 30, 1937, in Waynesboro, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Gordon J. and Kathleen E. Carbaugh Howell.

She was employed by Knouse Foods Inc. in Orrtanna, Pa.; and Waynesboro Shoe Co.

She is survived by a twin sister, Jean D. Watt of Millington, Tenn.; twin brothers, Gary G. Howell and Larry D. Howell, both of Waynesboro; nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Rest Haven Cemetery, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave. in Hagerstown. The Rev. Stuart Troutman will officiate.

Arrangements are by Davis Funeral Home, Smithsburg.

Donald R. Eyler

SMITHSBURG - Donald Reno Eyler, 75, of 12014 Itnyre Road, died Tuesday, June 20, 2000, at Washington County Hospital.

Born Dec. 24, 1924, in Union Bridge, Md., he was the son of Helen Elizabeth Strawsburg Eyler of Hagerstown and the late Reno Park Eyler.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Evelyn Jesse Radtke Eyler, in 1972.

He was employed by Marquette Cement Co., retiring in 1968.

A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy.

He was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church.

He was a member of North American Rod and Gun Club; VFW Post 1936; Morris Frock Post 42 American Legion; National Rifle Association; AARP; and a former member of Moose Lodge 212.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his second wife of 26 years, Louella M. Eyler; four daughters, Donrose Carl and Jean Carl, both of Smithsburg, Cindy Border of Hagerstown and Darlene Jenkins of Leitersburg; three stepdaughters, Shirley Herbert and Nancy Pettit, both of Hagerstown, and Hilda Hoover of Smithsburg; five stepsons, Ralph Minnick and Daniel Minnick, both of Smithsburg, Roy Minnick of Oklahoma City, Floyd Minnick of Bumpus, Va. and Glen Minnick of Baltimore; four sisters, Viola Ludwig of Lancaster, Pa., Doris Obitts and Vivian Wetzel, both of Hagerstown, and Linda Kline of Smithsburg; a brother, Gary Eyler of Smithsburg; 11 grandchildren; 18 stepgrandchildren; great-grandchildren; and stepgreat-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Ann Moore; two sons, Gerald Eyler and Robert Eyler; and a brother, Wilbur Eyler.

Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North in Hagerstown. The Rev. John W. Schildt will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery in Hagerstown.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Virginia A. Cook

Virginia A. Cook, 86, of 11013 Lincoln Ave., died Tuesday, June 20, 2000, at Washington County Hospital.

Born Nov. 14, 1913, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Harry H. and Della S. Keefer Shroder.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Quay F. Cook, in 1988.

She and her husband owned and operated C. & C. Vending.
