Crumbs from the Cracker Barrell

The annual report of the Quincy United Brethren Orphanage and Home in Quincy, Pa., in 1948 noted that the bakery "furnished for consumption in the Orphanage and Home departments: 30,080 loaves of bread. In addition, this department furnished for use in the home 380 large sheet cakes, 2,340 dozen cookies, buns and doughnuts, 224 sheets of apple and peach potpie, 265 large pies, 165 pounds fruit cake, 1,500 dozen rolls and 38 barrels of flour for kitchen and home use."
