6 plead guilty in drug cases

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Six people pleaded guilty in United States District Court on Friday to a single count of distributing crack cocaine, according to U.S. Attorney Melvin W. Kahle Jr.'s office.

They are:

* John Hosby, 41, address not available, who pleaded guilty to distributing crack cocaine on May 12, 1999, in Jefferson County, W.Va.

* Tracey Fields, age and address not available, who pleaded guilty to distributing cocaine on July 1, 1999, in Charles Town, W.Va.

* Armstead Craig, also known as "Manny" and "Manny Moo," 21, address not available, who pleaded guilty to distributing cocaine on July 12, 1998, in Ranson, W.Va.

* Kevin Travis Costello, 22, of Kearneysville, W.Va., who pleaded guilty to distributing cocaine on March 17, 1999, in Jefferson County, W.Va.

* Lawrence Morris, also known as "Nippy" and "Neptune," 21, of Ranson, W.Va., who pleaded guilty to distributing crack cocaine on May 12, 1999, in Jefferson County, W.Va.

* Vincent Nelson, 34, of 112 Ranson Estates, Ranson, W.Va., who pleaded guilty to distributing crack cocaine on May 17, 1999, in Ranson.

The maximum sentence for each count is 20 years in prison and a fine of up to $1 million.

Hosby is scheduled to be sentenced on Sept. 5 and the others on Sept. 6.

Fields, Costello and Morris are free on bond. Hosby, Craig and Nelson are in custody.

The cases were investigated by the Eastern Panhandle Drug and Violent Crimes Task Force.
