"X-Men" (NR) - Anti-mutant hysteria drives two camps of the genetically exceptional into conflict. Professor Charles Xavier and his proteges, who hope for peaceful co-existence with nonmutants, must stop a group of their counterparts who seek to save mutants by destroying the human race. Devolver, a Hanover, Pa.-based music group, will perform rock, reggae, blues, jazz and funk.

The band has released two albums of original songs, "One of these times" and "Windsor Court."

The Old Opera House Theatre Company will present a musical adaptation of "The Hobbit," authorized by the author, J.R.R. Tolkein.

Auditions are limited to ages 6 to 18 as of Monday, June 12. There are male and female speaking and singing roles. Larger roles will probably go to older students. Rehearsals will be weekday evenings and some Sunday afternoons.

"The Hobbit" will be directed by Karen Huntley. Musical director is Ruth Raubertas. Performances are Thursday, July 27, through Sunday, July 30.
