The Vacuum Store, 17549 Virginia Ave. in Hagerstown, and Miele, an appliance manufacturer, will give children and teenagers the chance to turn a Miele vacuum cleaner into an art "masterpiece" in the company's "Make Your Own Miele Masterpiece" contest.
Contestants color, paint or draw a design of a Miele vacuum cleaner within the outline of the vacuum cleaner provided. Forms may be picked up at The Vacuum Store.
Contestants are divided into three age groups: 5 to 10, 11 to 14 and 15 to 18. The store will select one winner from each age level, who will win $25. Winners will advance to the national level, where their designs will compete with other local winners. Three national winners will be selected, one at each age level. They'll win $500 and a $250 donation to their school's art program. The contest continues until Monday, July 10.
