Joseph H. Ritter Sr.

Joseph Henry "Ted" Ritter Sr., 60, of 19607 Foxcroft Circle, Hagerstown, died Friday, May 26, 2000, at City Hospital in Martinsburg, W.Va.

Born Feb. 28, 1940, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Ralph Robinson and Beulah Mae Henry Ritter.

He was previously employed by Wantz Distributors Inc. for 16 years, and by Ewing Oil Co. Inc. for 12 years.

He was a member of First Wesleyan Church.

He was a member of Moose Lodge of Martinsburg and Red Men of Williamsport.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara J. Fear Ritter; two daughters, Tina Marie Ritter and Tonya Ritter, both of Hagerstown; two sons, Joseph Henry Ritter Jr. and Dennis Wayne Ritter, both of Hagerstown; two brothers, Ralph Raymond Ritter of Falling Waters, W.Va. and John Phillip Ritter of Loris, S.C.; six grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by three sisters, Jean Hull, Betty Jane Bishop and Charlotte Mae Ritter; and a brother, Lawrence Calvin Orcutt.

Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd. in Hagerstown. The Rev. Robert D. Swank Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Herbert L. Pentoney

Herbert Lester Pentoney, 79, of 1209 Potomac Ave., Hagerstown, died Saturday, May 27, 2000, at his home.

Born Aug. 13, 1920, in Brunswick, Md., he was the son of the late Charles Raymond and Lacy Viola Rankin Pentoney.

He retired from the B&O Railroad.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He was a member of Park Road Bible Church.

He was a member of Brotherhood Railroad Trainmen; Masonic Lodge of Brunswick; and American Legion Post 96 of Brunswick.

He is survived by his wife, Rosalie A. Spence Pentoney; two daughters, Kathy Elaine Stewart of Jefferson, Md. and Karen Pentoney Lewis of Hagerstown; a son, Larry Eugene Pentoney of Hagerstown; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, George R. Pentoney; and a brother, Raymond M. Pentoney.

Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd. in Hagerstown. Pastor Ron Key will officiate. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Terrance M. Delaney

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Terrance M. Delaney, 37, of Martinsburg, died Saturday, May 27, 2000, at Winchester (Va.) Medical Center.

Born July 16, 1962, in Kingsland, Texas, he was the son of Beverly Blanke Delaney of Kingsland and the late George Delaney.

He was the project manager for Master Built Commercial Construction.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Colleen McCauley Delaney; his grandmother, Elizabeth Blanke of Kingsland; two stepdaughters, Tracy Smith and Tammy Hendricks, both of Martinsburg; a stepson, Michael Hendricks of Martinsburg; and six step-grandchildren.

Services will be Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St. in Martinsburg. The Rev. Glen Dumire will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Ruthie M. Haynos

KEARNEYSVILLE, W.Va. - Ruthie Mae Haynos, 54, of Kearneysville, died Thursday, May 25, 2000, at INOVA Alexandria Hospital in Alexandria, Va.

Born March 3, 1946, in Beckley, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late James R. and Theda Maddy Redden.

She retired from Arlington County Schools.

She was a member of Maplewood Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Edward C. Haynos; a son, Roger E. Haynos of Annandale, Va.; two sisters; and six brothers.

She was preceded in death by a sister and six brothers.

Graveside services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Gerrardstown Presbyterian Cemetery. The Rev. Carroll Williams will officiate.

Arrangements are by Brown Funeral Home, Martinsburg, W.Va.

Dorothy M. Bell

Dorothy May Bell, 77, a resident of Colton Villa Nursing Center, 750 Dual Highway, Hagerstown, died Friday, May 26, 2000, at Washington County Hospital.

Born June 19, 1922, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late George F. and Edna F. Wilkerson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger M. Bell Sr.

She was a graduate of North Street High School.

She was a homemaker.

She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church.

She is survived by a daughter, Dorothea F. Harris of Hagerstown; three sons, Roger M. Bell Jr., the Rev. G. Nathan Bell and Ajamu X, all of Hagerstown; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; cousins; and nieces and nephews.
