May 25, 2000

INWOOD, W.Va. - A 40-year-old Martinsburg man was charged Wednesday with robbing the Pikeside 7-Eleven earlier that day.

Jamey Keith Davis, of 318B Bernice Ave., was charged with one count of armed robbery.

Berkeley County Magistrate Sandra Miller set his bond at $40,000. Davis was being held in jail Thursday.

According to a criminal complaint filed by the Berkeley County Sheriff's Department, a man walked into the 7-Eleven at U.S. 11 and Nadenbousch Lane at about 2:12 a.m., then threatened to shoot and kill a clerk if she didn't turn over all the store's money.

The man did not display a weapon but made threats as if he had one, the complaint stated. Police said the clerk gave him an undisclosed amount of money.

There were two clerks in the store and no customers, according to Cpl. Bob Buracker of the sheriff's department.

A witness saw a man drive away in a blue Pontiac Grand Am. Buracker's complaint alleged the license plate had been stolen from a repossessed car.
