The Herald-Mail's annual guide to Summer Concerts

May 18, 2000

As we enter the warmest season of the year, many area concert arenas are hosting musicians who are experiencing a new season in their careers.

Ringo Starr, Jethro Tull and Earth, Wind & Fire are hitting the stage at Wolf Trap's Filene Center. KISS and Ted Nugent are joining forces at Nissan Pavilion in Bristow, Va., and hard rockers Poison, Cinderella, Dokken and Slaughter are ganging up for a concert at Hersheypark's Star Pavilion in Hershey, Pa.

There are plenty of current chart-toppers performing, too, including Britney Spears, Marc Anthony and Red Hot Chili Peppers.

The perennial "Margaritaville" man, Jimmy Buffett, is coming to the area, too. But his concerts - June 15 and 17, at Nissan Pavilion and Aug. 24 and 26, at Merriweather Post Pavilion - are already sold out, so you'll have to stick to hearing him on vinyl this summer. And there are no tickets left for 'N Sync's July 30 show at Hersheypark Stadium, but you can read about the teen heartthrobs on Showtime, D10, in today's paper.
