After a brief foot chase, Talbott was apprehended by Sgt. Mark Holtzman in the 200 block of South Prospect Street just five minutes after the robbery, police said.
The woman's purse was recovered intact, police said. The woman, who lives at Potomac Towers, didn't require any medical treatment, police said.
Bank robbery suspect sought
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - The man who robbed the F&M Bank on Foxcroft Avenue Friday afternoon was still at large late Saturday, Martinsburg City Police said.
No weapon was displayed during the 1:47 p.m. robbery in which the man passed a note to a teller demanding money, police said.
The amount of money was undisclosed.
Witnesses described the robber as a white man, about 5 feet 10 inches tall, heavy build, 200 to 210 pounds, in his early to mid-20s.
He was wearing a light gray sweatshirt, light blue baggy jeans and hiking sneakers. He had short hair and was wearing sunglasses and a ball cap with a star emblem in the middle.
Woman released from county jail
A Thurmont, Md., woman charged Friday with harboring a Franklin County Prison escapee was released from the Washington County Detention Center Saturday after posting $15,000 bond, jail officials said.
Erica Danielle Wiley was taken into custody in Williamsport Friday afternoon along with Steven L. Silverman as they were getting gasoline at the Sheetz Store there, Maryland State Police reported.
Silverman, 30, was charged with first-degree escape, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, hindering a police officer and making a false statement.
After an appearance before a bond commissioner, Silverman was released into the custody of Maryland Division of Correction authorities and transported to prison facilities in Baltimore, police said.
Wiley was charged with the same drug offenses as well as hindering a police officer, police said.
Traffic stop leads to charges
FREDERICK, Md. - A routine traffic stop late Friday led to drug charges against a Shepherdstown, W.Va., man who was a passenger in that vehicle, according to Maryland State Police.
Trooper First Class Wayne Wachsmuth stopped a tan Ford Bonco for speeding on Jefferson Street around 10:49 p.m. and noticed the driver and passenger were acting nervously, police said. Further investigation led to the discovery of 19 grams of suspected marijuana, police said.
Todd Girban Ashelman, 19, was charged with possession of marijuana, ecstasy and drug paraphernalia and distribution of illegal drugs, police said.
Ashelman was being held on $11,000 bond at the Frederick County Detention Center late Saturday.
There was no indication the driver was charged with any crimes.
