Hilda Mae Carter, 74, 11 W. Baltimore St., Apt. 615, Hagerstown, died Friday, April 28, 2000, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Nov. 9, 1925, in Burkittsville, Md., she was the daughter of Evva C. Jones of Hagerstown.
She attended school in Burkittsville.
She did domestic work.
She was a member of Second Christian Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Barbara Rideout of Hagerstown and Linda Thomasine Lipscombe of Baltimore; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and a cousin.
She was preceded in death by her companion and close friend, Calvin Cook.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Second Christian Church, 65 E. North Ave., Hagerstown. The Rev. RoseAnn Duckett will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
Viewing will be held Tuesday one hour prior to the services at the church.
Arrangements are by Watson Funeral Home, 24 W. Bethel St., Hagerstown.
John Pensinger Jr.
ST. THOMAS, Pa. - John Pensinger Jr., 76, of 582 Loudon Road, died Saturday, April 29, 2000, at Chambersburg Hospital, Chambersburg, Pa.
Born Sept. 19, 1923, in Chambersburg, he was the son of the late John and Reba Poe Pensinger.
He was employed at Letterkenny Army Depot, Chambersburg, for 28 years, retiring in 1986.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He was a member of Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 842, Charles M. Nitterhouse Post 1599, both of Chambersburg, and Detrich-Brechbill Post 6123 American Legion of St. Thomas.
He is survived by his wife, Rose M. Fisckio Pensinger, whom he married Dec. 19, 1947; two sons, Gerald L. Pensinger of Shippensburg, Pa., and Donald R. Pensinger of Antioch, Tenn.; two sisters, Edna Hippensteel of Shippensburg and Dorothy Jumper of Chambersburg; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters and six brothers.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg. The Rev. Terry L. Hoke will officiate. Burial will be in St. Thomas Cemetery, St. Thomas.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from noon to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.

Orville D. Fox
WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Orville D. Fox, 96, of 13903 Harbaugh Church Road, and formerly of East Irvin Ave., Hagerstown, died Sunday, April 30, 2000, at his home.
Born Dec. 23, 1903, in Shady Grove, Pa., he was the son of the late John David and Anna Mary Ringer Fox.
His first wife, Mary E. Toms Fox, died June 10, 1950, and his second wife, Kathryn R. Toms Fox, died June 1, 1987.
He was a graduate of Shippensburg Normal School, now Shippensburg University.
He was employed as a sales counselor with Rest Haven Cemetery for over 50 years.
He was a life member of Hagerstown Church of the Brethren.
He is survived by a niece, Pearl Diahl of Waynesboro; a nephew, Chester Fox of New Oxford, Pa.; a great-niece; a great-nephew and a caregiver, Cathy M. Minnich of Waynesboro.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth Fox; three brothers, Benjamin Fox, Raymond Fox and Wilbur Fox.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Andrew K. Coffman Funeral Home, 40 E. Antietam St., Hagerstown. The Rev. Dean M. Miller will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Tuesday one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Ellene F. Forbes, 79, of 101 Glen St., Apt. 7, died Saturday, April 29, 2000, at Chambersburg Hospital.
Born Feb. 6, 1921, in Chambersburg, she was the daughter of the late Frank W. and Zelle Fraker Geddes.
