"Wasn't it wonderful that the whole third grade classroom couldn't go on an egg hunt at Bester Elementary, just because several children were talking. Is this fair?"

"I am calling about the Wal-Mart Supercenter planned in Funkstown. I think it should go there. The only thing Funkstown residents have are bars and antique shops. There must be a bar stool for everyone that lives in Funkstown. Get off your bar stools and go shopping. There is nothing wrong with a Wal-Mart on Edgemont Road."

"About the raises for the Sheriff's Department. When the deputies were hired, they knew how much money they were going to make, then all of a sudden they want to be compensated like the other counties in the area. Nobody is forcing them to stay here. They can work anywhere else. They can do anything else. There are other people out there that know what the pay is and are willing to do the job and will do the job good. I am tired of paying taxes for cry babies."

"I am calling in about the article that I read in the paper on Friday about the Wal-Mart that might be coming to Funkstown. I live on that side of town and I think it would be a great thing to have more shopping, so that we wouldn't have to go so far to do what we have to do."

"I think this country needs to stop wasting its time on concentrating on what is going on with Elian. I think the boy is cute, but I think he belongs with his father. We shouldn't be meddling in other countries' business. The father is entitled to his son. How many illegal aliens do we need coming into this country? I have nothing against helping other people, but it is time that this country focus on the people that were born in this country. We have unemployment, so many people on welfare and are homeless and so many problems in the schools."

"There is a big problem at Rest Haven Cemetery concerning the deer that are on a daily basis eating the flowers from the graves of loved ones buried there. Also, the deer are destructive and totally destroying the expensive memorial trees planted there in memory of loved ones. Any suggestions to eliminate the deer problems at Rest Haven Cemetery will be welcome."

"To the person complaining about the Cubans and Mexicans coming to the United States. It shouldn't matter who comes over here, this is a free country. I think that all the countries need to get along and stick together. If the United States would start giving money to all the poor countries that need it, we wouldn't have this problem. We all need to stick together because we are all in this world together. I think that the Mexicans, the Jamaicans and the Cubans, I think if they want to come over here, they should come over here and then we can have one big family."

"Can you tell me how Janet Reno can defy a court order that said the kid was to stay where he is until further notice? I don't think she made America very proud of what she did. I would like to know how she can look herself in the mirror in the morning?"

"If someone lost a set of keys downtown Friday evening, we have a set at Flowers by Janet. You can come in here and describe them, and we will give them back to you. It is a rather large set of keys and there is a tag with a girl's name on it. So she can come in, we are open Monday through Friday, thank you."

"What a nice gesture was given to all the Stonecroft Residents. We all received a homemade basket with some candy for the holiday. Thank you Brownie Troop 218 at Eastern Elementary."

"I think it is a disgrace to our country, they way that they took that little boy out of Florida. They should send Clinton and Janet to Cuba to live. Just think, that little boy will have nightmares all his life."
