Anniversary Announcements for April 22

Mark and Betty Lou Stitely Keener of Paramount were honored at a reception in celebration of their 50th wedding anniversary Saturday, Jan. 8, 2000, at Longmeadow Church of the Brethren Fellowship Hall in Paramount.

The celebration was hosted by their children and spouses, Angela and Norman McElwain of Akron, Pa., Peggy and Harry Strite of Williamsport and Frederick and Anna Keener of Bristolville, Ohio.

Approximately 100 relatives and friends from Maryland, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Ohio and North Carolina attended the event. Their children sang "Bicycle Built for Two," "You Are My Sunshine" and "Never Will You Walk Alone" and presented a tribute to the Keeners.

The Keeners were married Jan. 8, 1950, by the Rev. Harry R. Rowland at Longmeadow Church of the Brethren in Paramount.


Mrs. Keener has been a homemaker most of her married life.

Mr. Keener worked at Maugansville Elevator and Lumber Co. from 1949 to 1980, and from 1980 to his retirement in 1995, he worked as a purchasing agent for Paramount Feed and Supply Inc.

They have lived in Paramount all their married lives.

They have four granddaughters, seven grandsons and one stepgranddaughter.
