CV can't cool Chambersburg's Edwards

MECHANICSBURG, Pa. - Aaron Edwards continued a red-hot eight-day stretch, throwing a one-hitter with 12 strikeouts while also driving in a run in leading No. 1 Chambersburg to a 5-0 victory over Cumberland Valley in the Mid Penn Commonwealth on Wednesday.

Matt Carr scored the first run of the game on a triple by Adam Witter in the first, then capped a three-run fourth with a two-run single for Chambersburg (7-1, 5-0). Andy Stottlemyer also had an RBI single for the Trojans.

THURMONT, Md. - Matt Johnson had three hits and Keith Hutzel and Andy Schrader had two hits as North Hagerstown defeated Catoctin in the Monocacy Valley Athletic League.

Frankie McAllister had a two-run double and Joe McGhee had an RBI double for North (7-3).
