Pa. man dies from injuries week after wreck

YORK, Pa. - A Franklin County man injured in a one-vehicle accident last week died Wednesday in York Hospital, according to a hospital spokeswoman.

Edward Porter, 52, of 6015 Honeywood Ave., St. Thomas, Pa., died of an intercranial hemorrhage and blunt force trauma, according to the York County Coroner's Office.

Porter was injured April 5 in a 4 a.m. accident in the 6000 block of Lincoln Way West in St. Thomas Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police. He was driving west when his 1985 Chevy Cavalier crossed the center and eastbound lanes, ran off the road and struck a telephone pole, police said.

Porter was not wearing a seat belt, police said.

Porter's death was the third from a traffic accident in Franklin County this year.

Funeral arrangements are by the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home in Chambersburg.

According to his obituary, Porter was retired and had been a manager and maintenance man for apartment buildings in Phoenix, Ariz.
