Anniversary announcements for March 25

Mr. and Mrs. Charles "Bud" M. Magaha of Smithsburg celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Saturday, Jan. 8, 2000, at Elks Club in Waynesboro, Pa.

The celebration was hosted by their son and daughter-in-law, Allen and Teresa Magaha of Hagerstown, their granddaughter and her husband, Sharie and Charles Buffington and great-granddaughter, Allyson Buffington of Clear Spring. They also have a grandson, Shawn A. Magaha of Hagerstown.

The Magahas renewed their wedding vows in a ceremony officiated by Deacon Charles Long, a cousin of Mr. Magaha.

They were presented with gifts and a money tree.

After dinner, a three-tiered anniversary cake was served.

Mr. and Mrs. Magaha were married Jan. 7, 1950, by Pastor Paul B. Whitman at First Baptist Church on Washington Square in Hagerstown.

Mrs. Magaha is the former Caroline V. Morgan, daughter of the late Carroll and Edna Morgan.

She was employed by Youth Center Teen World for 23 years, Washington County Board of Education for 11 years and retired in 1995 from Hagerstown Day Nursery after 11 years of service.


Mr. Magaha is the son of the late Alvrina McClelland and the late John D. Magaha.

He was employed with Terminix for 35 years then with Program Resource Building Maintenance Cancer Research at Fort Detrick in Frederick, Md., until his retirement in 1994.
