United Way distributions

March 17, 2000

United Way of Washington County on Thursday allocated $1,129,041 to its 22 member agencies. The funds raised during the 1999 giving campaign were distributed as follows:

-- Alzheimer's Association Western Maryland: $9,628.

-- American Red Cross- Washington County: $113,592.

-- Big Brothers-Big Sisters of Washington County: $69,977.

-- Boy Scouts Mason-Dixon Council: $86,445.

-- Boys' & Girls' Clubs of Washington County, Inc.: $123,002.

-- Citizens Assisting and Sheltering the Abused (CASA): $117,759.

-- Catholic Charities-Washington County: $67,589.

-- Washington County Commission on Aging: $36,198.

-- Community Action Council: $30,447.

-- Community Free Clinic: $35,493.

-- Exchange Club Parent-Child Center: $16,196.

-- Food Resources Inc.: $26,373.

-- Girl Scout Shawnee Council: $48,308.

-- Girls Incorporated of Washington County: $110,973.

-- Hagerstown Day Nursery: $4,407.

-- Hagerstown Goodwill Industries: $27,794.

-- Hospice of Washington County, Inc.: $49,754.

-- Interstate Service Coalition: $13,817.

-- Memorial Recreation Center, Inc.: $39,140.

-- The W House, Inc.: $23,466.

-- Washington County Council on Alcoholism & Drug Dependency: $2,436.

-- Hagerstown YMCA: $76,246.

The Alzheimer's Association, Hagerstown Day Nursery and Hospice of Washington County will receive only donor-directed designations in 2000.
