ROHRERSVILLE - Maryland State Police were looking Wednesday for the driver of a red 1994 or later Pontiac Grand Prix that may have been involved in a Feb. 29 hit-and-run accident in the 4000 block of Trego Road.

Police recently learned that wreckage left at the scene may have come from a Pontiac. The vehicle would have front and rear damage and is missing a piece of side moulding, police said.

The driver crossed the center line of northbound Trego Road and ran off the side of the road, police said. The car hit a telephone pole, shrubs, a wooden fence and a well cap on private property. The lawn also was torn up, police said.

The house on the property lost its water supply as a result of the damage to the well.
