The warm weather that moved into the area this week will continue through Sunday, with temperatures expected to reach or exceed the 60-degree mark each day, according to forecasters with the National Weather Service in Sterling, Va.

Thursday's high of 74 degrees was about 30 degrees warmer than normal for the month of February but did not break a record, said meteorologist Dewey Walston.

Today's weather will be sunny with temperatures between 65 and 70 degrees.

Tonight is expected to be partly cloudy with lows in the mid- to upper 40s, Walston said.

Saturday and Sunday will be slightly cooler with highs from 60 to 65 degrees.

There is a chance of showers and thunderstorms Sunday, with lows in the mid- to upper 40s, he said.
