State investigates CW Travel complaints

February 23, 2000

The Maryland Attorney General's office is conducting a consumer protection investigation into complaints that CW Travel in Hagerstown received payment for travel arrangements that haven't been delivered.

Larry Munson, who heads the Consumer Protection Division's Hagerstown branch, is collecting names and contact information from anyone who may have had problems with the agency, which has closed.

Anyone who had a problem with the travel agency may call 301-791-4780 between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. weekdays.

Munson said he will pass on the names, addresses and day and evening telephone numbers to investigators in Baltimore, who will take it from there.

People shouldn't come into the office or write, Munson said.

And they shouldn't bring in documentation of their claims, though they should save it for investigators, he said.
