Lillie C. Collins

SANFORD, N.C. - Lillie Charles Collins, 87, of 215 Midland Ave., died Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2000, at her home.

Her husband, Robert C. Collins, preceded her in death.

She is survived by five daughters, Esther M. Rice and Laura Hall, both of Sanford, Evelyn Barrett of Fayetteville, N.C., Linda Kelly of Anderson Creek, N.C., and Peggy Starns of Claremont, N.C.; two sons, Robert C. Collins Jr. of Charlotte, N.C., and Grady Collins of Andrews, S.C.; 22 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, Thomas C. Collins.

Services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Miller-Boles Funeral Home, 200 Hawkins Ave., Sanford. The Rev. Donny Drake will officiate. Burial will be in Buffalo Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home tonight from 7 to 9 p.m.

Charlie Uchima

LORTON, Va. - Charlie Uchima, of Lorton, died Monday, Feb. 14, 2000.

He was the son of Chidori.

He worked as a cameraman for Fox 5 News for 24 years.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Mary; four children, Robin, Alvin, Larry and Darryl; three siblings, Alice, Sumiko and Masa; grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.

Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Mountcastle Funeral Home, 13318 Occoquan Road in Woodbridge, Va. Burial will be in Quantico National Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 5216, Glen Allen, VA 23058-5216.

Sylvia D. Dunahugh

Sylvia Dawn Dunahugh, 57, of 11218 Greenberry Road, Hagerstown, died Monday, Feb. 14, 2000, at Washington County Hospital.

Born Nov. 4, 1942, in Martinsburg, W.Va., she was the daughter of Margaret E. Anderson Potter of Hagerstown, and the late Oliver L. Potter.

She was a 1960 graduate of North Hagerstown High School.

She was a hair stylist.

She was a member of Hagerstown Church of the Brethren.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Nelson S. Dunahugh; two daughters, Bobbi S. Dunahugh and Krista L. Dunahugh, both of Hagerstown; two sons, David W. Dunahugh of Hampton, Va., and Travis M. Dunahugh, at home; three sisters, Bette Burger of Greencastle, Pa., and Lawana Huff and Ellen Moore, both of Texas; one brother, Michael Potter of Hagerstown; five grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown. Pastor Dean M. Miller will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m.

Vernon E. Martin

WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Vernon E. "Gene" Martin, 59, of Wyndham Avenue, who died Sunday, Feb. 13, 2000, was a member of Welty Church of the Brethren in Greensburg, Md.

Alma E. Bowser

BOONSBORO - Alma E. Bowser, 84, of 8507 Mapleville Road, and formerly of Frederick Street, Hagerstown, who died Sunday, Feb. 13, 2000, also is survived by a brother, Samuel Bowser of Waynesboro, Pa.

Lois E. Gift

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Lois E. Gift, 83, of The Quarters at The Shook, and formerly of 1014 Orchard Drive, died Monday, Feb. 14, 2000, at Chambersburg Hospital.

Born Jan. 14, 1917, in Augusta, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Rev. Charles E. and Ada Bucklew Grapes.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Nelson R. Gift, in 1980.

She was a graduate of Chambersburg High School; and attended nursing school.

She retired as a teacher's aide from Lincoln Intermediate Unit in Chambersburg. Previously, she was employed by Chambersburg Area School District in the cafeteria of Chambersburg Middle School. Earlier, she ran the snack bar at Chambersburg Hospital.

She was a member of Church of the Brethren in Chambersburg.

She is survived by a sister, Frazier Finniff of Chambersburg; a granddaughter, Carol Gift of Newburg, Pa.; two grandsons, Brad Gift of Korea and Donald L. Gift II of Chambersburg; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Donald L. Gift.

A memorial service will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg. The Revs. Kenneth Gibble and Donald L. Baker will officiate.

There will be no viewing.

Earl F. Witt

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Earl Freeman "Bud" Witt, 79, of 26 Warwick Drive, died Monday, Feb. 14, 2000, at Manor Care.

Born July 23, 1920, in Seattle, he was the son of the late Nelson E. and Floretta Burdett Witt.

He retired from L.E.A.D. in February 1980 as chief of the Facilities Division.
