Alice V. Harsh

Alice Virginia Harsh, 77, formerly of 616 Guilford Ave., and of Avalon Manor Nursing Home, Hagerstown, died Sunday, Feb. 13, 2000, at Washington County Hospital.

Born April 19, 1922, in Richmond, Va., she was the daughter of the late Edward and Edna Buchanan Stewart. She was raised by her grandparents, the late Mr. and Mrs. John Buchanan.

Her husband, Robert Benjamin Harsh, died Jan. 11, 2000.

She was a 1940 graduate of Hagerstown High School; and a 1942 graduate of Hagerstown Business College. Sheattended Columbia Business College in Hagerstown.

She was employed by Jamison Door Co., Hagerstown, as a secretary. Previously she was employed by Fairchild Aircraft and Harper & Row Publishing Co.

She was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church, Hagerstown.

She is survived by her caregivers, Mervin and Barbara Harsh of Greencastle; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her twin sister; and a brother.

Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Osborne Funeral Home, 425 S. Conococheague St., Williamsport. The Rev. Victor I. Zuck will officiate. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Williamsport.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home, which will be open from 9 a.m.

Memorial donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.

Elizabeth B. Kunz

BOONSBORO - Elizabeth Benedict Kunz, 96, of Fahrney-Keedy Home, died Saturday, Feb. 12, 2000, at the home.

Born April 7, 1903, in Waynesboro, Pa., she was the daughter of the late S. Allison and Florence V. Kale Benedict.

Her husband, George Kunz, died in 1977.

She graduated in 1921 from Waynesboro High School; and in 1924 from University of Pennsylvania Hospital School of Nursing.

She worked as a visiting nurse in Philadelphia; was a house parent at Hershey School for Orphans from 1948 to 1953; and was an administrator at Fahrney-Keedy from 1953 to 1965.

She is survived by a niece, Betty Kinzie of Royersford, Pa.; two great-nieces, and two great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Gladys B. Layman; and a brother, James Gail Benedict.

Memorial services will be Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Faith Chapel, 14 S. Potomac St., Hagerstown. The Rev. Larry R. Gamby will officiate. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

There will be no viewing.

The family requests the omission of flowers. Memorial donations may be made to Faith Chapel, 14 S. Potomac St., Hagerstown, MD 21740; or to Fahrney-Keedy Home, 8507 Mapleville Road, Boonsboro, MD 21713.

Arrangements are by Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown.

Dorothy L. Crider

WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Dorothy L. Crider, 65, of 12194 Blue Mountain Ave., died Saturday, Feb. 12, 2000, at her home.

Born Aug. 30, 1934, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Arthur J. Smith and Daisy K. Kipe Newcomer.

Her first husband, Charles L. Brown, died in 1984.

She was employed at Wayne Tool Co., Waynesboro, as a stock clerk for 17 years, retiring in 1994.

She was a member of Fairview Avenue Brethren in Christ Church, Waynesboro.

She was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles 1758 Auxiliary, Waynesboro, and was secretary for 10 years. She had been a member of Blue Ridge Summit (Pa.) Ambulance Squad.

She is survived by her husband, Donald H. Crider Sr., whom she married June 1988; two daughters, Wanda L. Webb of Rouzerville, Pa., and Dixie L. Dull of Somerset, Pa.; two step-daughters, Rosemary Portner of Zullinger, Pa., and Lorna L. Reely of Rouzerville; a step-son, Donald H. Crider Jr. of Rouzerville; six grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchildren; and a brother.

She was preceded in death by her stepfather, Edwin Newcomer; a sister; and three brothers.

Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro. Bishop H. Frank Kipe will officiate. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home, where Fraternal Order of Eagles Post 1758 Auxiliary will hold a memorial service at 8:30 p.m.

Eleanor M. Klinger

WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Eleanor M. Hartman Wingert Klinger, 86, of 518 W. Eighth St., died Saturday, Feb. 12, 2000, at Manorcare Health Services in Chambersburg, Pa.,

Born Nov. 2, 1913, in Quincy, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Charles B. and M. Grace Wagaman Hartman.

She attended Quincy schools.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, George Harold Wingert, on March 21, 1958. They were married Jan. 6, 1934; and by her second husband, Ammon L. Klinger, on April 25, 1986. They were married Sept. 5, 1959,

She was employed at Connie's Sportswear, Waynesboro; then at Mont Alto Shirt Factory.

She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church, Waynesboro.

She was a member of South Chapter 2977 AARP and National AARP.
