Michael C. Tucker

SUMMIT POINT, W.Va. - Michael Christopher Tucker, 12, of Pembroke Grove, died Friday, Feb. 11, 2000, at University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore.

Born Nov. 10, 1987, in Baltimore, he was the son of Dale Robert and Terry Lynn Worrell Tucker of Summit Point.

He was a seventh-grade student at Charles Town Junior High School, Charles Town, W.Va.

He was a member of Summit Point United Methodist Church, where he was a member of the Sunday School Class and the Youth Group, and served as an acolyte.

He played Summit Point Little League Baseball for the Angels. He was a member of Bobcats and Paw Prints 4-H Club of Summit Point.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by a sister, Marissa Carol Tucker at home; a brother, Matthew Steven Tucker at home; maternal grandparents Elijah and Nancy Worrell of Pasadena, Md.; paternal grandmother Victorine Tucker of Ellicott City, Md.; maternal great-grandmother Janie Rorrer of Beckley, W.Va.; and cousins.

Services will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Summit Point United Methodist Church in Summit Point. The Rev. John Lewis will officiate. Burial will be in Middleway Masonic Cemetery in Middleway, W.Va.

The family will receive friends Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home in Charles Town.

Doris J. Gosnell

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Doris Jean "Dottie" Gosnell, 64, of Martinsburg, died Friday, Feb. 11, 2000, at City Hospital in Martinsburg.

Born Feb. 15, 1935, in Martinsburg, she was the daughter of the late Phillip and Louise French Gosnell.

She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church.

She was a client at Eastern Panhandle Training Center.

She is survived by three sisters, Helen Caldwell of Philadelphia, and Florence Lord and Marian Farling, both of Martinsburg; two brothers, William Gosnell of Charleston, W.Va., and Dale Gosnell of Martinsburg; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a brother, James C. Gosnell.

Services will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St. in Martinsburg. The Rev. Al Clipp will officiate. Burial will be in Johnsontown Cemetery in Johnsontown, W.Va.

The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Lewis C. Myers

GREENCASTLE, Pa. - Lewis C. Myers, 88, of 27 W. Dahlgren St., died Friday, Feb. 11, 2000, at Chambersburg Hospital, Chambersburg, Pa.

Born March 24, 1911, near Cearfoss, he was the son of the late Scott and Lillie Barncord Myers.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Anna M. Keller Myers, in 1986.

He attended the one-room school in Worleytown, Pa.

He worked at Arthur's Dairy in Waynesboro, Pa., for 27 years, delivering milk door-to-door in the Greencastle area. Earlier, he was a weigher and sampler at Hershey Creamery Plant in Greencastle, a position he held for more than 20 years. During his retirement, he was a courier for Citizen's National Bank of Southern Pennsylvania.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Greencastle.

He was a member of Greencastle Senior Center and a social member of Frank L. Carbaugh American Legion Post 373 in Greencastle.

He is survived by two daughters, Betty M. Hartman of Greencastle and Peggy A. Hays of State Line, Pa.; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by four sisters and two brothers.

Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Miller-Grove Funeral Home, 521 S. Washington St. in Greencastle. Pastor Stacey A. Crawford will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Greencastle.

The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First United Methodist Church, Building Fund, 45 N. Washington St., Greencastle, PA 17225.

Lloyd L. Beard Sr.

Lloyd Luther Beard Sr., 91, of Coffman Nursing Home, Hagerstown, and formerly of Rench Road, died Friday, Feb. 11, 2000, at Coffman Nursing Home.

Born May 25, 1908, in Union Bridge, Md., he was the son of the late Jacob William Beard and Grace Dean McClelland Beard Butts.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Aletha Marie Roser Beard, in 1985.

He retired in 1981 from Eastern Roper Manufacturing. He retired in 1973 from Mack Trucks. Earlier, he owned and operated Beard's Garage in Hagerstown.

He was a member of Rehoboth United Methodist Church in Williamsport.

He was a member of UAW Local 171 Retired of Hagerstown.
