Reed-Shirk




John D. Shirk and Lori L. Reed announce their engagement.

Miss Reed is the daughter of Jack and Dorothy Reed of Hagerstown. She is a 1993 business graduate of North Hagerstown High School. She is employed by Tri-State Electrical and Electronics Supply Co. Inc., as an accounting specialist.

Mr. Shirk is the son of John and Brenda Shirk of Hagerstown. He is a 1988 graduate of North Hagerstown High School, a 1996 graduate of Hagerstown Junior College, a 1999 graduate of Mount St. Mary's College with a teaching degree in elementary education and is pursuing a master's degree at Western Maryland College. He served four years in the U.S. Navy. He is employed as a physical education teacher at St. Joseph's Catholic School in Martinsburg, W.Va.

An October wedding is planned.

Harwood-Starkoski




Steve and Debbie Harwood of Boonsboro wish to announce the engagement of their daughter, Deanna Christine, to Thomas A. Starkoski Jr., son of Tom and Stella Starkoski of Carlisle, Pa.

Ms. Harwood is a graduate of Boonsboro High School, a graduate of Frederick Community College with an associate's degree in legal studies and is pursuing a bachelor's degree at University of Baltimore. She is employed as an REO marketing analyst with Norwest Mortgage Inc.

Mr. Starkoski is employed as a general manager for Hughes Network Systems. He also is commander of CO. A 1-115 IN of Maryland Army National Guard in Frederick, Md.

An August wedding is planned.

Morgan-Carr




Mr. and Mrs. Dale Morgan of Falling Waters, W.Va., wish to announce the engagement of their daughter, Jennifer Leigh Morgan, to Adam Lee Carr, son of Gary Carr Sr. of Martinsburg, W.Va.

Miss Morgan is a 1998 graduate of Hedgesville High School. She is employed by City National Bank of West Virginia.

Mr. Carr is a 1998 graduate of Hedgesville High School and will graduate from Hagerstown Community College in December with a degree in elementary education. He is employed by Finish Line in Martinsburg.

Robinson-McCoy




Mr. and Mrs. Gary Robinson of Burke, Va., and Evie Rohrer of Hagerstown wish to announce the engagement of their daughter, Bonnie Michelle Robinson, to Rodney Lynn McCoy.

Miss Robinson is a graduate of Williamsport High School and Frostburg State University. She is attending The Maryland Police Corps and will be employed by the City of Hagerstown following graduation.

Mr. McCoy is a graduate of South Hagerstown High School. He is employed by the State of Maryland.

Burtner-Shoemaker




Cassie D. Burtner and Ralph H. "Butch" Shoemaker Jr. wish to announce their engagement.

Ms. Burtner is the daughter of Walden and Katherine Burtner of Boonsboro. She is a graduate of South Hagerstown High School, received a bachelor of science degree in elementary education at University of Maryland, College Park, and a master of arts degree in elementary math and science from Hood College. She is employed as a sixth grade language arts and reading teacher at E. Russell Hicks Middle School and as a sales associate at The Children's Place at Prime Outlets.

Mr. Shoemaker is the son of Ralph H. and Barbara Shoemaker of Polk City, Fla., and Reedsville, Pa. He is a graduate of Kishacoquillas High School in Reedsville and attended Penn State University. He is employed with Bankers Life and Casualty as a servicing agent.

A Dec. 23 wedding is planned.

Lefever-Cook




David R. Cook III and Kimberly Ann Lefever of Inwood, W.Va., wish to announce their engagement.

Ms. Lefever is the daughter of Doug and Judy Lefever of Boonsboro. She is a graduate of Boonsboro High School. She is employed by D.M. Bowman Inc. in Williamsport in the corporate safety department.

Mr. Cook is the son of Helen Cook of Martinsburg, W.Va., and David R. Cook Jr. of Capitol Heights, Md. He is a graduate of Potomac High School in Oxon Hill, Md. He is employed by D.M. Bowman Inc. as a professional truck driver.

A July 15 wedding is planned.

Weiss-Goldstein




Mr. and Mrs. Donovan Bachtell of Hagerstown and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Weiss of Hagerstown announce the engagement of their daughter, Erika Weiss, to Donald Goldstein, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Goldstein of Noblesville, Ind.

Miss Weiss is a graduate of Roanoke College and is employed as a district manager for Monarch Pharmaceuticals. She lives in Cary, N.C.

Mr. Goldstein is a graduate of Clemson University and is employed as a sales representative for Smith Kline Beecham in Durham, N.C.

The wedding will take place in Chapel Hill, N.C.
