Cash stolen from apartment

KEEDYSVILLE, Md. - An undisclosed but large amount of cash was stolen from an apartment house at 5116 Red Hill Road Friday afternoon, according to the Washington County Sheriff's Department.

The apartment house was broken into through the basement door between noon and 1:30 p.m. and the residence was ransacked, police said.

Cars collide on Pa. 316

QUINCY TOWNSHIP, Pa. - A southbound vehicle on Pa. 316 collided with a northbound vehicle Friday morning after the driver tried to pass a plow truck, according to Pennsylvania State Police.


Betty Baker was trying to pass the truck around 8:15 a.m. when she lost control south of Altenwald Road and hit a vehicle driven by Nancy Schaffer, police said.

No one was injured, police said.

41 license plates stolen from dealership

Forty-one license plates were stolen earlier this month from Hoffman Chrysler on Edgewood Drive, according to Hagerstown City Police.

The tags were stolen between Jan. 17 and Jan. 21, police said.

The following series were stolen:

* Truck tags from 79E888 through 79E894.

* Multipurpose tags from M334337 through M334343.

* Temporary tags from 96272M through 96298M.

Six injured in accident

FREDERICK, Md. - Frederick City Police and rescue officials were called to an accident late Friday night, with an initial report of six people injured, according to Frederick County Emergency Services.

None of the injuries appeared severe, but people were still being evaluated at the scene late Friday night, police said.

The accident occurred around 10 p.m. at the intersection of Motter Avenue and West 9th Street, according to emergency services.

Accident sends man to hospital

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - A man was taken to Chambersburg Hospital late Friday night after a single-car accident on U.S. 11, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

The accident occurred in the 3000 block of U.S. 11, south of Chambersburg, police said.

No further information was available.
