Dear Katy,

I am responding to the letter from Scared Silent in The Herald-Mail Dec. 14. I would like to add to your list of services for pregnant teens.

The Exchange Club Parent-Child Center Inc. has a program designed for teens titled "Right From The Start." This program services pregnant girls ages 13 to 18 with a confidential, caring, volunteer role model. The role model, called a parent aide, visits with them and their families in the home, assisting teens in finding resources, keeping doctors' appointments, learning child development and just listening.

We also offer free parenting support groups for parents of all ages.

Dear Katy,

I'm 18, and I've never been in a serious relationship. Every time I find a guy I like, we go out for a while, then I break it off. At first, I really like them but after a while they start to bug me. Is there something wrong with me?

- Short Term Sweetie

Dear Short Term Sweetie,

Of course there's nothing wrong with you. The only problem you have is that you haven't found the right guy yet. When you do, everything will be different.

You're only 18 and have plenty of time left in your life to be in a serious relationship. Enjoy dating around while the opportunity is still there. Who knows? Just because these relationships end doesn't mean you can't salvage a friendship or two.

The other plus of being single and dating different guys is that you'll pick up on what you like and don't like. You'll figure out what you're looking for in a relationship.

So, when the time comes and the right guy appears, you'll know exactly what you want.
