SCORES from Monday: Catoctin stuns South

THURMONT, Md. - Catoctin erased a erased 10-point deficit in the fourth quarter to tie the score, then jumped ahead of South Hagerstown in the overtime period and held on for a 63-60 win over the Rebels in a Monocacy Valley Athletic League game on Monday.

The Cougars (1-4, 1-3) had a chance to win the game at the end of regulation, but three shots in the final seconds were off the mark.

Jeremy Parks led the Cougars with 19 points, while Steve Smith had 11 points and 13 rebounds. Brian Boyer had 14 points and five blocked shots and Josh Eyler had five assists.

Mike Lee had 19 points for the Rebels (2-2, 1-2). Danny Fowler had 15 points and Skip Jackson added 13.

Hancock led by 11 points in the second quarter but Hyndman scored 12 straight points for a 28-27 lead at halftime.
