Robert Tritapoe Jr.

HEDGESVILLE, W.Va. - Robert Tritapoe Jr., 77, of Hedgesville, died Saturday, Dec. 18, 1999, at Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Martinsburg, W.Va.

Born May 16, 1922, in Morgan County, W.Va., he was the son of the late Robert F. and Anna Marcaline Yost Tritapoe Sr.

He retired from the Finishing Department of Abex Corporation in Winchester, Va.

He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army.

He is survived by his wife, Violet Deloris Manning Tritapoe; a son, Robert Tritapoe III of Middletown, Md.; a stepson, Anthony Congo of Glen Gary, Md.; three sisters, Mary Cain, Agatha Ruppenthal and Betty Daily, all of Berkeley Springs, W.Va.; a brother, Melvin Tritapoe of Berkeley Springs; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Ethel Close, and three brothers, Foster Tritapoe, Daniel Tritapoe and Harold Tritapoe.

Services will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Hunter-Anderson Funeral Home in Berkeley Springs. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery in Berkeley Springs.

Visitation will be Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mary V. Doarnberger

Services for Mary Virginia Doarnberger, 86, of 1145 Beechwood Drive, Hagerstown, who died Thursday, Dec. 16, 1999, will be today at 3 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd. in Hagerstown. The Rev. Fred M. Harris will officiate.

Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.

The family will receive friends today following the service at the funeral home until 5 p.m.

Betty Lou M. Penwell

HARPERS FERRY, W.Va. - Betty Lou Mahoney Penwell, 53, of Harpers Ferry, died Friday, Dec. 17, 1999, at her home.

Born Feb. 24, 1946, in Jefferson County, she was the daughter of the late Margaret Virginia Mahoney.

She was a supervisor at Zerox Corporation.

She was a member of Mannings Assembly of God Church.

She is survived by her husband, Wayne Cleveland Penwell; a daughter, Patricia L. Penwell of Morgantown, W.Va.; a son, Dwayne Scott Penwell of Ranson, W.Va.; three sisters, Rebecca A. Ashby of Stephenson, Va., Barbara J. Popkins of Charles Town, W.Va., and Karen S. Burroughs of Winchester, Va.; three brothers, Robert A. Mahoney of Brunswick, Md., and George F. Mahoney and John W. Mahoney, both of Charles Town; and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Wendell W. Mahoney.

Services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Mannings Assembly of God Church in Harpers Ferry. The Rev. James Boyce will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens in Martinsburg, W.Va.

The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Jefferson Chapel Funeral Home in Ranson.

Bernadine E. Kurtz

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Bernadine Elizabeth Kurtz, 75, of Martinsburg, died Saturday, Dec. 18, 1999, at the home of her daughter, Linda L. Collins.

Born Aug. 24, 1924, in Beryl, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Howard Ashby and Verna Mae Teets Doman.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Kurtz.

She attended Full Gospel Church at Four Mile Woods.

She retired from and owned B's Ceramics. She had worked at Interwoven Mills, and Four Mile Wood Grocery.

She is survived by a daughter, Linda L. Collins of Martinsburg; a son, Douglas E. Trenum of Hedgesville, W.Va.; a granddaughter, Becky Basford of Gerrardstown, W.Va.; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a son, Carl A. Trenum, and two brothers, Clifford Doman and Russell Doman.

Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St. in Martinsburg. The Rev. Joseph D. Eversole will officiate. Burial will be in Bunker Hill Cemetery in Bunker Hill, W.Va.

The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Kevin L. Michael

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Kevin Lee Michael, 39, of Martinsburg, died Saturday, Dec. 18, 1999, at Winchester Medical Center, Winchester, Va.

Born March 11, 1960, in Martinsburg, he was the son of Herbert Arthur and Lucille H. Noll Michael of Martinsburg.

He was a 1978 graduate of Hedgesville High School, and attended Lord Fairfax Community College. He received an apprentice electrician certificate from James Rumsey Vocational Technical Center and was taking correspondence courses in electronics from International Correspondence School.

Previously, he was employed by James Rumsey Vocational Technical Center, Eastern Panhandle Training Center and most recently O'Sullivan Corporation in Winchester.

He was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church of Martinsburg.

He was a member of the National Rifle Association.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by a brother, Keith Arthur Michael of Martinsburg, aunts, uncles, great-aunts, great-uncles and cousins.
