Elizabeth Anne Lapole and Ryan Lee Elkin were married at 2 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 8, 2005, at St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church in Hagerstown. Father Richard Murphy performed the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Deborah Thompson and Gary and Mae Lapole. She is the granddaughter of Rosalie Lapole and Clifford and Rose Marie Thompson. The bridegroom is the son of Gerald and Sandy Elkin. He is the grandson of Blaine and Jean Elkin and Joseph and Margaret Sekerak.

The bride was given in marriage by Gary Lapole, father of the bride, Deborah Thompson, mother of the bride, and Mae Lapole, stepmother of the bride.

Nicole Martin of Boonsboro, best friend of the bride for 12 years, served as maid of honor. Matron of honor was Angela Livengood of Martinsburg, W.Va., a best friend of the bride for five years. Bridesmaids were Erin Taylor of Brunswick, Md., friend of the bride and Alicia Elkin of Boonsboro, sister of the bridegroom. Lexie Hemming, cousin of the bride, served as flower girl.


Ian Elkin of Boonsboro served as best man. Groomsmen included Charles Livengood of Martinsburg, Joseph Reese of Boonsboro and Matt Sullivan of Hagerstown, all friends of the bridegroom, and James Lapole, brother of the bride. The ring bearer was Justin Sekerak, godson and cousin of the bridegroom.

Readings for the ceremony were presented by Alicia Elkin, Matt Sullivan and Nicky Martin.

Tom and Grace Calabro of Riverdale, N.J., great-aunt and great-uncle of the bridegroom, served as organist and vocalist.

Presentation of gifts during the service was by Deb Thompson and Sandy Elkin, mothers of the bride and bridegroom.

The bride wore a "Dion" strapless, A-line gown by Maggie Sottero, featuring moc wrap waist with Swarovski crystals, bugle beads, seed beads and sequins in diamond ice white.

Flowers were a mix of purple and white Stargazer lilies, alstroe-meria and roses.

A reception was held at the Funkstown Moose Lodge. Mike Long was DJ. Decorations and an 11-tiered, cascading cake with waterfall were furnished by Cindi's Sweets in Williamsport.

Honorary attendants were

McKenzie Covey of Indiana, Pa., and Steven Sekerak of Holland, Ohio, both cousins of the bridegroom, who handed out bubbles. Altar servers were Michael Sekerak of Holland and Jason Viggiano of Conshohocken, Pa., both cousins of the bridegroom. Guestbook attendants were Chip and Melodee Aufden-Brinke of Hagerstown.

Following a wedding trip to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic, the couple will live in Hagerstown.

The bride is a 2000 graduate of Boonsboro High School and received a degree in clinical and developmental psychology and sociology from Hood College in 2004.The bridegroom is a 2001 graduate of Boonsboro High School. He is employed as branch manager with First NLC in Leesburg, Va.

A bridal shower was hosted by Nicky Martin and Angie Livengood at the home of the bride's mother in Hagerstown on Saturday, Aug. 27.

Nicky Martin, Angie Livengood and Erin Taylor hosted a bachelorette party Saturday, Oct. 1, at Miyako Japanese Steak and Seafood and at "In the Streets" in Frederick, Md.

A bachelor party was hosted by Ian Elkin on Saturday, Oct. 1,

at Park Circle Restaurant and at Leggs.


Jessica M. Stantz and Scott M. Kinsey were married Saturday, April 9, 2005, at First Baptist Church.

The bride is the daughter of Ella and Kenneth Russell of Hagerstown and Donald Beal of Fayetteville, N.C. The bridegroom is the son of Susan and Kenneth Mills and Steve Kinsey, all of Hagerstown.

The bride is a 2000 graduate of Williamsport High School and is attending Hagers-town Business College. The bridegroom is a 1999 graduate of North Hagerstown High School. He is employed as a concrete finisher with Sowers and Sons of Smithsburg.


Jessica Lynn Shinham and Michael Arthur Crist were married Saturday, April 30, 2005, at Bethel Assembly of God. The bride is the daughter of Charles D. Shinham and Fannie Shinham of Hagers-town. The bridegroom is the son of Patric and Carole Crist of Chambersburg, Pa.

The bride is a 1994 graduate of Clear Spring High School. She is employed as a sales trainer with First Data Merchant Services in Hagerstown.

The bridegroom is a 1998 graduate of Chambersburg Area Senior High School. He is employed as a bulk account manager with Pepsi Bottling Group in Newville, Pa.

They live in Chambersburg, Pa.


Alicia Brook and Daniel Wells were married Saturday, Oct. 8, 2005, at Longboat Key, Fla.

The bride is the daughter of Ken and Joanne Brook of Punta Gorda, Fla., formerly of Scitatu, R.I. The bridegroom is the son of Gordon and Carol Wells of Falling Waters, W.Va.

The bride is a graduate of Ringling School of Art in Sarasota, Fla. She is employed with Business Office Systems in Chicago.The bridegroom is a 1997 graduate of West Virginia University with a degree in design in housing. He also is employed with Business Office Systems.
