Deputies respond to bomb threat, theft



The Washington County Sheriff's Department responded to the following calls since Monday, Lt. Mark Knight said.

Tuesday:

  • At 1 a.m., an attempted breaking and entering was reported at a home in the 8900 block of Slabtown Road.


Monday:

  • At 7:30 a.m., a $50 statue was reported stolen from a lawn in the 17900 block of Grant Avenue.

  • At 11 a.m., a bomb threat was reported at Williamsport High School. The school was evacuated so a Hagerstown Police Department K-9 could scan the building. Nothing was found.

  • At 3:30 p.m., tires were reported slashed on a 2000 Jeep Wrangler parked at Earth Data Aviation, 18227 Air Park Road.


Police receive calls about found items



The Hagerstown Police Department responded to the following calls Monday, according to a written release from Sgt. Paul Kifer:

  • At 6:48 a.m., a bicycle was reported found in the 1000 block of Maryland Avenue. The bicycle is a blue, 24-inch Huffy Stone Mountain bicycle.

  • At 12:20 p.m., a gun holster was reported found in the 700 block of Guilford Avenue.
