November 30, 1999

Police blocked off streets in a south Hagerstown neighborhood Thursday night as police and Special Response Team units responded to reports of shots fired in the 900 block of Oak Street.

Oak Street and Kuhn Avenue were closed at East Wilson Boulevard, and East First Street was closed at Rose Hill Avenue and Frederick Street.

Hagerstown Police Department dispatchers first reported that shots had been fired at 905 Oak Street at 10:20 p.m.

City police, the Washington County Sheriff's Department, Maryland State Police and Special Response Team units were on the scene late Thursday as police attempted to reach the person inside the residence by telephone.

No one had been injured as of 11 p.m., police said.

No further information was available Thursday night.
