November 30, 1999

A federal search and seizure warrant was served Thursday at Nadia's Convenience Store in Hagerstown, according to Hagerstown City Police.

The warrant resulted after an investigation by the U.S. Department of Agriculture Office of the Inspector General into alleged illegal food stamp transactions at the store at 200 W. Franklin St., according to a press release.

Police said that during investigations, transactions were made for cash in exchange for food stamp benefits.

No one was arrested Thursday, though evidence was seized, according to police.

The case will be presented to the U.S. Attorney, police said.
