November 30, 1999|By MATTHEW UMSTEAD

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - A Berkeley County woman was in Eastern Regional Jail on Tuesday after she was arrested over the weekend for allegedly stabbing another woman twice in an altercation, according to jail and court records.

Charged with malicious wounding, Darci Marie Stockin, 36, of 2 Doll Baby Lane, in Butts subdivision, was arraigned on Saturday by Magistrate Jim Humphrey, who set a $50,000 cash-only bond for her.

At City Hospital, investigating West Virginia State Police Trooper J.J. Bowman said in his complaint that one stab wound entered the victim's left lung from her shoulder, causing it to collapse. The victim also was stabbed in the back of the neck in the Saturday evening encounter, Bowman noted in his complaint.

The woman was no longer a patient at City Hospital.
