Roger L. Haupt

MOUNT LENA - Roger Lee Haupt, 67, of Mount Lena, died Wednesday, Nov. 17, 1999, at Washington County Hospital.

Born Feb. 22, 1932, in Mount Lena, he was the son of the late Carlton E. Sr. and Elizabeth R. Lum Haupt.

He was a 1950 graduate of Boonsboro High School.

A veteran of the Korean War, he served in the U.S. Army.

He was employed by Potomac Edison Co., retiring in 1987.

He was a member of Mount Lena United Methodist Church; and attended Grace Brethren Church of Hagerstown.

He was a member of Four Runners Club, and Quarter Century Club of Potomac Edison Co. He coached Little League and was a member of the Little League district staff.

He is survived by his wife, June Powell Haupt; two sons, Greg L. Haupt of Cearfoss and Roger Jeffrey Haupt of Mount Lena; a sister, Audrey E. Mong of Rouzerville, Pa.; a brother, Carlton E. Haupt Jr. of Mount Lena; and three grandchildren.

Graveside services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Mount Lena Cemetery, with military services by Morris Frock Post 42 American Legion. Dean Pryor, Bob Dell and Elza Hurst will officiate.

There will be no viewing.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society, 1037 Haven Road, Hagerstown, MD 21742.

Arrangements are by Davis Funeral Home in Smithsburg.

William C. Brenner

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - William C. Brenner, 75, of Martinsburg, died Wednesday, Nov. 17, 1999, at his home.

Born Feb. 23, 1924, in Martinsburg, he was the son of the late George P. and Frances Schleuss Brenner Gilbert.

He was a graduate of Martinsburg High School.

He retired from the Veteran's Affairs Medical Center of Martinsburg; and formerly ran the projector at Apollo Theater.

A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy.

He was a Protestant.

He is survived by his wife, Rosemary O'Leary Brenner; an uncle; and cousins.

Graveside services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Rosedale Cemetery. The Rev. James D. Riley Jr. will officiate.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St. in Martinsburg.

Elizabeth L. Neel

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Elizabeth Love Stipe Neel, 88, of Martinsburg, died Wednesday, Nov. 17, 1999, at City Hospital in Martinsburg.

Born Oct. 1, 1911, in Wadesville, Va., she was the daughter of the late Henry Francis and Blanche Fox Stipe.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas F. Neel.

She was employed by the former Perfection Garment Co.

She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, the choir; United Methodist Women; Philathea Class, and played piano.

She was a member of C-CAP; AARP; City Hospital Auxiliary; and Senior Center.

She is survived by a son, Harry T. Neel of Martinsburg; three grandchildren, Richard F. Neel Jr., Elizabeth Ann Neel and Carole Lee Miller.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Richard F. Neel and Beverly Fox Neel; three sisters, Frances S. Patton, Margaret S. Snyder and Marie S. Barr; and a brother, Harry V. Stipe.

Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St. in Martinsburg. Dr. G. Edward Grove will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Cemetery in Frederick County, Va. City Hospital volunteers and auxiliary members will meet at the funeral home Saturday at 10:30 a.m.

The family will receive friends today from 4 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.

Virginia S. Wills

Virginia Shenk Wills, 92, of 149 Summit Ave., died Wednesday, Nov. 17, 1999, at Fahrney-Keedy Memorial Home near Boonsboro.

Born Dec. 30, 1906, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Charles Edward and Maud L. Barkdoll Shenk.

She was a 1925 graduate of Hagerstown High School; and a 1929 graduate of Hood College.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold F. Wills, in 1983.

A retired teacher, she taught at Woodland Way and Washington School.

She was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church; and a former member of Trinity Lutheran Church, sang in the adult choir; and was a member of Senior Fellowship; Lutheran Church Women and Mary and Martha Bible Class.

She was a member of Hood Alumni Club.

She is survived by two daughters, Mary E. Haines of Hagerstown and Kathryn L. Daniel of Cross Junction, Va.; a son, Harold E. Wills of Hagerstown; and two sisters, Julia Belle Westphal and Letitia Bernhardt, both of Williamsport.

Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at St. Mark's Lutheran Church. The Rev. David R. Kaplan will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at the church.

Arrangements are by Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home, 305 N. Potomac St., Hagerstown.

Jo A. Shank

HEDGESVILLE, W.Va. - Jo Ann Shank, 50, of Hedgesville, died Thursday, Nov. 18, 1999, at Winchester (Va.) Medical Center.
