Ava M. McClung

Ava Marie "Avory" McClung, 57, of 11 W. Baltimore St., Hagerstown, died Friday, Nov. 12, 1999, at Washington County Hospital.

Born Jan. 24, 1942, in Martinsburg, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late George Edward and Ina Ethel Henson Miller.

She was employed by Avalon Nursing Home.

She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Clear Spring.

She is survived by a sister, Elaine Bragunier of Hagerstown; a niece; and a nephew.

Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. R. Terrence Foor will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Devoy M. Unger

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Devoy Michael Unger, 14, of 4566 Edenville Road, died Thursday, Nov. 11, 1999, at his home.

Born Nov. 22, 1984, in Waynesboro, Pa., he was the son of Michael L. and Dagmar E. Swoboda Unger.

He was a student in the ninth-grade at Faust Junior High School.

He was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his maternal grandmother, Anneliese Swoboda of Sommerach, Germany; and his paternal grandparents, the Unger and Ford families.

Services will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Chambersburg. Father Louis Rodriguez will officiate. Burial will be in Brechbill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, 725 Norland Ave. in Chambersburg; and Tuesday at 9 a.m. at the church. For the convenience of friends, the funeral home will be open Monday from 4 to 9 p.m.

Doris T. Windtberg

BUNKER HILL, W.Va. - Doris Talbert Windtberg, 76, of 140 Elizabeth Drive, died Saturday, Nov. 13, 1999, at Winchester Medical Center in Winchester, Va.

Born June 28, 1923, in Washington DC, she was the daughter of the late Edward Downer and Hazel Pauline Longley Talbert Sr.

She was of the Episcopal faith.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, James Arthur Windtberg; three daughters, Laurie Jo Levine of Lancaster, Pa., Amy Susan Trent of Jane Lew, W.Va. and Patricia Alice Sites of Charles Town, W.Va.; a son, Gregory James Windtberg of Bozeman, Mont.; a sister, Barbara Jean Stoudt of Rockville, Md.; 22 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Lee Ellwinger; and a brother, Edward Downer Talbert Jr.

Services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Eackles-Spencer Funeral Home, 970 Washington St. in Harpers Ferry, W.Va. The Rev. John D. Alfriend will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Lutheran Cemetery in Bolivar, W.Va.

The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m.; and Tuesday at 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Linnie J. Mickley

Linnie Jean Mickley, 81, of 720 Spruce St., Hagerstown, died Saturday, Nov. 13, 1999, at Washington County Hospital.

Born July 30, 1918, in Chambersburg, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Harry Howard and Edna Violet Johns Stephens.

She retired from C.E.T.A. in Hagerstown.

She was a member of Hagerstown Bible Church.

She is survived by three sons, Clive C. Spoonhour of Williamsport, Michael Jon Mickley of Chambersburg and Daniel W. Mickley of Hagerstown; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by Virginia Short and Audrey Berryhill.

Services will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown. The Rev. Robert Timmons will officiate. Burial will be in Lincoln Cemetery in Chambersburg.

Visitation will be Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Union Rescue Missions Inc., 125 N. Prospect St., Hagerstown, MD 21740.

Edith Henning

BOONSBORO - Edith Henning, 71, of 6123 Moser Road, died Saturday, Nov. 13, 1999, at her home.

Born June 18, 1928, in Wensowen, Germany, she was the daughter of the late Wilhelm and Therese Dzubiel Dzienian.

She retired in 1993 as a secretary for the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Silver Spring, Md.

She was a member of Middletown Valley Seventh-day Adventist Church in Middletown, where she was the church clerk and head deaconess.

She is survived by her husband, Rudi H. Henning; a daughter, Doris B. Diener of Hagerstown; a son, Volker R. Henning of Collegedale, Tenn.; two sisters, Erna Geduhn and Else Schmitt, both of Germany; two brothers, Werner Dzienian of Germany and Ewald Dzienian of Poland; and five grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Willi Dzienian.

Services will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at Bast Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike in Boonsboro. The Rev. Sherwood Pangborn will officiate. Burial will be in Boonsboro Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
