Glenda L. Ahalt

JEFFERSON, Md. - Glenda Lee "Pixie" Ahalt, 51, of 3641 Jefferson Pike, died Wednesday, Nov. 10, 1999, at the University of Maryland Hospital in Baltimore.

Born July 19, 1948, in Frederick, Md., she was the daughter of Evelyn Willard Murray of Jefferson and the late Thomas O. Murray.

She was a Frederick County school bus driver.

She was a member of Jefferson United Church of Christ.

She was a member of Jefferson Volunteer Fire Co. and its Ladies Auxiliary; and Frederick County School Bus Drivers Association.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Ronald William Ahalt Sr.; two sons, Billy Ahalt of Jefferson and R. Mark Ahalt of Middletown; two brothers, Thomas O. Murray Jr. of Knoxville, Md., and John David Murray of Jefferson; and a grandson.

Services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Jefferson United Church of Christ. The Rev. Guy A. Wenck will officiate. Burial will be in Reformed Cemetery in Jefferson.

The family will receive friends today from 6 to 9 p.m. at Donald B. Thompson Funeral Home, 31 E. Main St. in Middletown; and Saturday at 9 a.m. at the church.

Ruth V. Harmon

MERCERSBURG, Pa. - Ruth V. Harmon, 91, of 13979 Buchanan Trail West, died Thursday, Nov. 11, 1999, at her home.

Born Oct. 9, 1908, near Mercersburg, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Ida Trogler Brindle.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John H. Harmon, in 1975.

She was a homemaker.

She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ of Lemasters, Pa.; and a former member of the Women's Guild.

She is survived by two granddaughters, Patti V. Piper and Dixie L. Gordon, both of Mercersburg; four great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Helen Piper; a sister; and seven brothers.

Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at St. Paul's UCC of Lemasters. The Rev. Douglas N. Hodges will officiate. Burial will be in Spring Grove Cemetery in Lemasters.

Visitation will be Saturday at noon at the church.

Arrangements are by Lininger-Fries Funeral Home in Mercersburg.

Spencer C. McCullough

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Spencer Curtis McCullough was stillborn Tuesday, Nov. 9, 1999, at Chambersburg Hospital.

He is survived by his parents, Rebecca R. Mason and Richard Curtis McCullough of Chambersburg; a brother, Shawn Richard McCullough, at home; maternal grandparents, David and Doris Mason of Mercersburg; paternal grandmother, Mary Spencer of Mercersburg; and paternal grandfather, Ralph Curtis Spencer of Cumberland, Md.

Services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Pathway Full Gospel Church of Marion, Pa. The Rev. Christy R. Stouffer will officiate. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery in Mercersburg, Pa.

There will be no viewing.

Arrangements are by Lininger-Fries Funeral Home in Mercersburg.

Lewis E. Glaser

NEW WINDSOR, Md. - Lewis E. Glaser, 79, of Dennings Road, died Thursday, Nov. 11, 1999, at his home.

Born Nov. 18, 1919, in Hancock, he was the son of the late Lewis and Ruth McFadden Glaser.

He retired in 1982 from Bell System as district marketing manager.

He served in the U.S. Army and Reserves, retiring with the rank of colonel. He was a graduate of the Army Command and General Staff College and the Industrial College of the Armed Forces.

A World War II veteran, he served in the Southwest Pacific Theater. His decorations included the Legion of Merit and the Distinguished Service Medal.

He was past commander of the 1601st Maneuver Area Command, Fort Meade, Md.; past president of Optimist Club of Catonsville, Md.; member of the Reserve Officers Association; Tonoloway Rod and Gun Club of Hancock; Webster B. Harrison Post 26 American Legion of Hancock; and National Rifle Association.

He is survived by his wife, Marie Hendershot Glaser, whom he married Jan. 24, 1946; three daughters, Jeanne Hunt of Rockville, Md., Joyce Widmayer of Columbia, Md., and Joan Eells of Coconut Creek, Fla.; a son, Steven Glaser of Berkeley Springs, W.Va.; a sister, Ruth Glaser of Maugansville; a brother, Darrow Glaser of Hagerstown; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Verne Glaser.

Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 141 W. Main St., Hancock. Chaplain Thomas Wesley will officiate. Burial with military honors will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park in Hagerstown.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home, which will be open from 2 p.m.

Donard C. Williams

HEDGESVILLE, W.Va. - Donard Craig Williams, 42, of Hedgesville, died Wednesday, Nov. 10, 1999, at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore.
