The Weltys

Mr. and Mrs. Lee E. Welty Sr. of Hagerstown celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Saturday, Nov. 6, 1999.

Friends and family from Hagerstown, the surrounding area and Rome, Pa., gathered at Evangel Baptist Church to honor the couple and to witness the reaffirmation of their wedding vows. The ceremony was performed by their son, the Rev. Robert D. Welty of Boonsboro Bible Church.

Lee E. and Ruth C. (Hose) Welty were married Nov. 6, 1949, at The Point Salem Gospel Mission, now Evangel Baptist Church.

The Weltys' four children and spouses are Deborah and Terry Gladhill, Lee E. Jr. and Sheryl Welty, Robert D. and Cathy Welty and daughter Kathy.


They have eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

The Klines

Mr. and Mrs. William Kline of Hagerstown celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a gathering of family and friends Sunday, Aug. 22, 1999, at Williamsport American Legion.

The event was hosted by their daughter, Dottie Zimmerman, her husband, Dale and grandchildren Jana Hammond and Nathan Reel.

The Klines were united in marriage Aug. 19, 1949, in Frederick, Md.

Evelyn Kline recently retired from Marriott Food Services in the Allegheny Energy building.

Bill Kline retired from building custom homes in the area.

They have one daughter, two grandchildren and one stepgrandchild.

The Weavers

Dennis and Jean Weaver recently celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary with their family at a dinner at Antrim House Restaurant in Hagerstown.

They were presented with a corsage and boutonniere and received many gifts. A family portrait was taken to celebrate the occasion.

The Weavers were married Sept. 28, 1974, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Funkstown by the Rev. Donald Brake, now deceased.

Decorations and refreshments were provided by the committee that planned the affair.
