The Bakers

Jerry and Dorothy Baker of Hagerstown celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Saturday, May 22, 1999, at Hickory Bridge Restaurant in Orrtanna, Pa. The event was attended by family and friends.

The Bakers were married at the Methodist church in Frederick, Md., in 1949.

Their children and spouses are Jerry Baker Jr. and Jennifer Baker of Milford, Del., Roy and Julie Baker of Waynesboro, Pa., Carol Baker of Boonsboro, Carolyn and Sheldon Weaver of Hagerstown and Paul and Terri Baker of Paramount.

Mrs. Baker is a homemaker.

Mr. Baker is retired from Maryland Correctional Training Center.

They have five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.




The Brewers

Mr. and Mrs. Fred Brewer of Hagerstown celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Saturday, Sept. 25, 1999.

A dinner dance was held at the VFW in Hagerstown, hosted by their children, Janet Tracy and her husband, George, Judy Eckard and her husband, Jeff, and Shirley Brewer and her friend Jim Shulby. Music was provided by DVK Allen Billman.

The event was attended by friends and family from the local area and from North Carolina.

The Brewers were married Oct. 1, 1949, in Cearfoss.

Both are retired from Washington County Board of Education.

The Brewers have five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.




The McKenzies

Mr. and Mrs. Paul V. McKenzie Jr. of Hagerstown celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at a surprise dinner party at Grace United Methodist Church. The celebration was hosted by their three sons, Paul Vernon McKenzie, Roger L. McKenzie, R. Brad McKenzie and their families. Approximately 60 relatives and friends attended.

The McKenzies were married July 30, 1949.

Alma McKenzie is the daughter of the late Marie and Ralph Clevenger. She is retired from Washington County Board of Education, where she worked as a bus driver.

Paul V. McKenzie Jr. is the son of the late Edith and Paul V. McKenzie. He is retired from Western Maryland Railroad.

The McKenzies have lived the 50 years of their marriage in Hagerstown.
