Boonsboro Elementary School recently received a grant from the Chesapeake Bay Trust.
Project Challenge teacher Jeanne Ecton was awarded an $880 grant from the Trust, which is sponsoring stream restoration and ecological awareness activities.
The funds will be used to purchase trees, shrubs and flowers, which fourth-graders will plant along the banks and stream sides in Shafer Park.
The students also will stencil storm drains with Chesapeake Bay Drainage signs.
