Rescue workers from the Greencastle Fire Department had to extract Matthew Carr, 17, from his 1990 Honda CRX after the car was struck at about 4 p.m. Friday by a 1986 Ford F250 driven by Dennis Harshman of Chambersburg, according to Pennsylvania State Police in Chambersburg.
Harshman was traveling north on Antrim Church Road when his truck's left front bumper struck the left front bumper of Carr's Honda, police said.
Carr was southbound on Antrim Church Road.
Upon impact, the front end of Carr's vehicle lodged partially under Harshman's truck, police said.
The truck then came to rest, blocking the northbound lane of Antrim Church Road, while the Honda stopped between the southbound lane and a field, according to police.
Carr was flown to York Hospital, where he was listed in serious condition Saturday with a broken leg, right knee, nose and jaw, according to a hospital spokesperson.
Harshman was treated at Chambersburg Hospital and released, police said.
The investigation is continuing.
Pa. man charged in break-in attempt
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - A Chambersburg man faces several charges after being accused of attempting to force his way into a Chambersburg woman's home Friday night, according to Pennsylvania State Police in Chambersburg.
Christopher Bruce Carbaugh, 33, was charged with criminal mischief and disorderly conduct, police said.
Police said Carbaugh became loud and argumentative and dented the front door of the home in Hamilton Township near Chambersburg.
Traffic stop leads to drug charges
FREDERICK, Md. - A Frederick man was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of cocaine following a foot chase Friday night in Frederick, according to the Frederick Police Department.
Terry Wayne Tyeryer, 19, fled police after being stopped for a traffic violation that resulted in further investigation regarding possible drug activity, police said.
Tyeryer was quickly caught, police said.
Stereo equipment stolen from cars
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Stereo equipment was stolen from cars at two car dealerships in the area sometime Friday or Saturday, according to Pennsylvania State Police.
At both car lots, someone broke into cars and stole stereos from them, police said.
The two businesses were Kyner's Auto Sales at 2040 Lincoln Way East and Bumbaugh's Auto Sales at 470 Anthony Highway.
Two goats shot near Fayetteville house
FAYETTEVILLE, Pa. - Two goats were shot near a house on Brookens Road between Wednesday and Friday.
One goat was shot through the neck and one was shot through the shoulder, according to Pennsylvania State Police.
The goats belonged to Leroy Sollenberger of 1035 Brookens Road.
Two people injured in U.S. 11 accident
BUNKER HILL, W.Va. - West Virginia State Police were on the scene of a serious accident on U.S. 11 Saturday night.
The crash, which left two people seriously injured, happened near Musselman High School, officials said.
No other information was available.
