FREDERICK, Md. - Ashley Bush had 10 kills, nine blocks and two aces but Frederick lost 15-9, 11-15, 6-15, 9-15. Danielle Robbins had five kills, three blocks and three aces and Amanda Chapman had four aces and six assists.

WARFORDSBURG, Pa. - Erin Bain had 41 assists but it wasn't enough to help Southern Fulton, which was swept by Bedford, 15-8, 15-5.

Michelle Golden had five blocks and 12 kills. while Lindsey Mellott had eight service points for the Indians (0-3).

Greencastle 2, Shalom 0

GREENCASTLE, Pa. - Tabitha Eshleman scored 16 service points with eight aces to go with 29 assists, five spikes, four kills and three blocks to lead Greencastle-Antrim to a 15-3, 15-2 win.

Randi Raifsnider had six spikes, 12 kills and four blocks for the Blue Devils (3-0) while Danielle Grove had 12 service points.

Brian Hoffman fired a 40 to lead North to a 175 at Black Rock. Justin Hackman had a 41 for Berkeley Springs, which finished with a 178. Steve Potter had a 41 for Martinsburg, which had a 179. Brandon Hendrickson had a 48 for Clear Spring, which had a 202.

NEW MARKET, Md. - Thomas Johnson's Mark Kubla was low medalist by shooting a 37 but Liberty used consistency to edge the Patriots at Westwinds Country Club. Liberty was led by Mike Rivas and Nick Desimone, who each shot 40.

FREDERICK, Md. - Bill Clussman had a 37 for Urbana and Jason Clipp had a 43 for Frederick at Little Bennett Golf Course.

Mike Fisherow shot a 40 to lead Georgetown Day School to a victory over Highland View Academy at Beaver Creek. Justin Young led Highland View (1-1) with a 43.

CLEAR SPRING - Brian Eichelberger had three goals, Kyle Cops had two goals and Ben Newman added one for Smithsburg (1-4). Justin Michael and Anthony Robinson scorfed for Clear Spring (1-2), which out shot Smithsburg, 31-18. Smithsburg goalie Ryan Church had 11 saves.

New Oxford 4, St. John's 2

NEW OXFORD, Pa. - Gyvus Richard and Yashar Yooseffi and Richard Gainor made 24 saves for St. John's Prospect Hall.

FREDERICK, Md. - Matt Slagle had a goal and an assist, Tim McCallum added a goal and Justin Shade made five assists for Frederick.


Catoctin 4, Smithsburg 3

THURMONT, Md. - Cyndi Benjamin scored two goals, including the game-winner with less than a minute remaining. Lindsay Gladhill and Lindsay Benjamin also scored for Catoctin. Katie Hoffman scored two goals for Smithsburg. Morgan Church added one goal.

Williamsport 6, Brunswick 0

BRUNSWICK, Md. - Ashley van Norden scored two goals, Brooke Weimer had a goal and two assists, and Stephanie Ritchie, Sammie Smiles and Jennie Wade added goals for Williamsport (3-1).

Middletown 3, South 0

Krista Sheffler and Tyler Caudle each scored first-half goals to lead Middletown to a Monocacy Valley Athletic League win over South Hagerstown.

Katie Chakola scored the final goal in the second half. Goalie Anna Halse-Stumberg made saves on all four of South's shots.

South goalie Ashley Mullican stopped 37 of Middletown's 40 shots for the Rebels (1-2, 0-1).

Martinsburg 4, Boonsboro 0

BOONSBORO - Tiffany Allen, Cassie Czaja, Jessica Hallbacker and Jessica Baum scored for Martinsburg. Kristen Lough made seven saves for Martinsburg (4-1). Cara Peckens had 12 saves for Boonsboro (1-2).

Boonsboro's JV won, 3-2.

Knights of Turntable 13-16, Mike's Auto 4-9: Eric Showe, Denny Wallech, Chuck Smith, Pork Wallech, Jeff Parks, Rod Beard, Mike Kelbaugh and Joe Lowan all hit .700 or better in Knights' sweep.



GREENCASTLE, Pa. - Ridge Hollyday aced the 128-yard, 11th hole with a seven iron at Greencastle Greens on Monday. Witnessing were Bob Hauver and Alan Harsh.


Werdebaugh wins race

Troy Werdebaugh, 34 of Chambersburg, won theVibrant Life Fun Run/Walk 5K with a time of 18:59.3 on Sunday.

Werdebaugh almost won the race last year, but was disqualified after making a wrong turn. He was the first of 81 participants across the finish line at the Review and Herald publishing company's campus.

Petra Houman, 13, won first place in the women's 19-and-under division. Her mother and father, Alice and Per, and sister, Martina, 10, also raced.
