North Hagerstown will have to wait until 4 p.m. today to complete its football game against Walkersville.

Lightning associated with Thursday night's thunderstorm forced the Monocacy Valley Athletic League game to be suspended with 10:32 remaining in the second period, and the Lions holding a 7-0 lead.

Dustin Brashears scored on a four-yard jaunt around the right side, capping a seven-play, 62-yard drive.

Play will be resumed today from the point at which it was suspended. Walkersville has possession, second-and-nine on the Hubs 12-yard line.

The Lions had amassed 96 rushing yards when the game was suspended, and held North to minus-12 yards on the ground.


Four other area games were suspended or postponed:

* Williamsport holds a 7-3 lead at Catoctin with three minutes left in the first half. Play continues today at 4.

* Francis Scott Key and Middletown are scoreless in the first quarter. The game resumes today at 4:30.

* Frederick plays its game at Old Mill today at 3:30.

* Thomas Johnson leads visiting Crossland 7-0 in the first quarter. The game will continue Monday at 6.
