Clear Spring ambulance dedicated

September 08, 1999

CLEAR SPRING, Md. - This "new" ambulance recently put into service will not only help serve the public but will remind all who see it of the dedication of a former chief.

"We have dedicated ambulance 493 to the late Marvin Shupp who died in 1998," said Chief John Greenlee shown here with the rehabilitated vehicle.

A painted tribute can be seen on the body of the ambulance, which Shupp designed 11 years ago.

"Marvin went to Indiana and drove it back here himself in 1988," Greenlee said. After many years of service, the ambulance was brought up to current specifications and put back into service.

Also new in service is a Chevrolet Tahoe which can be used for many purposes including actually transporting a patient if necessary, Greenlee said.
