The Longaberger Co.

The Longaberger Co. recently recognized area sales associates at its annual convention in Columbus, Ohio.

Lori Miller, of Hagerstown, was recognized as a National Top Sponsoring Award winner.

Maryland Metals

John "Buck" McCoy has been promoted to vice president of the Steel Products Division at Maryland Metals Inc.

He is responsible for all aspects of the company's steel fabrication and steel warehousing.

McCoy, who marked 25 years with the company in February, had been manager of the Steel Products Divison since 1987.

Waynesboro Area YMCA

WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Four new employees have joined the Waynesboro Area YMCA.

Tracie Osman and Chad Eberhart have been hired to head programs. Osman was previously acting aquatic director at the Harrisburg West Shore YMCA. Eberhart will be responsible for Waynesboro's youth sports programs, sports camp, day camp, gymnastics, youth center and Saturday night club programs.

Melody Gober, of Blue Ridge Summit, Pa., has been hired as a preschool teacher. She has seven years experience.

Brenda Brown, of Waynesboro, has been hired as front desk clerk and Afterschool Care Program provider.

American Express Tax and Business Services

American Express Tax and Business Services Inc. has announced that Certified Public Accountant Duane F. Maun has joined the Hagerstown office.

Maun has worked with clients in a broad range of industries, not-for-profits, state and local governments, construction, retail sales, distribution and manufacturers.

AB&C Group

CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. - Mandy Philbrick and Cheryl Perks, employees of AB&C Group, graduated from Shepherd College in August with the help of the company's Tuition Reimbursement Program.

Philbrick earned a bachelor of science degree in computer programming and information systems.

Perks completed her regents bachelor of arts degree program specializing in business.

Woods Resort

HEDGESVILLE, W.Va. - The Woods Resort in Hedgesville has announced recent Employees of the Month recognized for exceptional efforts and service to The Woods Club and its parent company, Potomac Valley Properties

Richard Keefer, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va., an equipment operator for Potomac Valley Properties, was Employee of the Month for May. He has worked for the company since 1988.

Gary Timko, of Martinsburg, W.Va., the assistant golf professional for the resort, was the Woods Club's Employee of the Month for June.

Debbie Schultz and Gertie Unger, who also work for the Woods Club, were both recognized for the month of July. Schultz, the AM kitchen supervisor, lives in Berkeley Springs. Unger, of Hedgesville, W.Va., is the AM restaurant supervisor.

All-Ways Communications

All-Ways Communications in Hagerstown has recognized employees Harmony Getts, Diane Harris and Kerrie Koopman for exceptional production during the month of August.

The company has recognized Diane Harris, Heather Guessford, Kelly Lefferts, Koopman and Tracy Kline for making no errors during August.


Sagittarius Hair Designs

Marsha Knicley, of Sagittarius Hair Designs in Hagerstown, recently attended the Pamela Taylor Studio and Academy in New York.

Taylor, a makeup artist, demonstrated the hydration method of wetting makeup sponges and brushes to avoid a cakey appearance.

D.J. Hair Designers

GREENCASTLE, Pa. - Dianne M. Brunner, Allison I. Pastore and Garry L. Daley, of D.J. Hair Designers in Greencastle, recently attended the 30th annual continuing education and cosmetology seminar at Salisbury State University in Salisbury, Md.

Classes and workshops covered nail techniques, makeovers, hair and hair cutting techniques.

Penn State Mont Alto

MONT ALTO, Pa. - Two instructors at Penn State Mont Alto were recently promoted to assistant professor positions.

Susan Johnston-Graf and Perry Wood are now in tenure-track positions in the Penn State University system.

Wood, of Gettysburg, Pa., teaches engineering and computer science courses and will also teach courses in the new information, sciences and technology degree program in the coming year.

Johnston-Graf, of Shippensburg, Pa., has been teaching English and writing classes on the campus for nine years.

Wheat First Union

Wheat First Union has announced that David K. Cushwa IV was recently designated a private investment management financial consultant.

Candidates for the designation must be screened and selected by senior management and the investment consulting department, demonstrate professionalism during four or more years as a financial consultant and complete the Investment Institute's Certified Portfolio Management program.

Cushwa, of Hagerstown, is an investment officer in Wheat First Union's Hagerstown office.
