You are welcome to leave a recorded message on any subject, but some calls will be screened out.

Here are some of the calls we have received lately:

"What a great time was had by all on Sunday, Aug. 29, at the Franklin County Fairgrounds. It was a benefit concert for 'Make A Wish Foundation.' They couldn't have picked two better bands, The Wilkinsons and the Possum Holler band were great. The day was beautiful, what a great time. Thank you."

"If you have lost a bunch of keys, please leave your phone number and I will contact you. I found them on Greenbury Road."

"To Gov. Glendening and the steering committee for the University of Maryland campus. I am a student at Frostburg University in downtown Hagerstown. Please do not put the new University of Maryland campus downtown. We the students do not have any protection when our classes are over between 9 p.m. and 10 p.m. We are by ourselves with the drunks, bums and drugs. I will transfer to the Maryland campus, if it is at a safe place and finish my education. If not I will go to the colleges out of town that have a safe environment for girl students to attend."

"I am sure a lot of people noticed the almost brand new car sitting along the road in front of the Cedar Lawn Cemetery. It was tagged almost a week ago and it's still sitting there. I thought the law was you were only allowed to sit there for 48 hours or it will be towed away? Anybody know what is wrong with that car?"

"I would like know if anybody has ever used that European Bodywrap? I am thinking about getting it done, but I want to know if anybody has used it and gotten any results and does it last? I want to know before I go and pay for it."

"I am upset. I can't believe that the town of Smithsburg is going to spend $16,000 upward to put in an unnecessary system. They want to replace the meters and things that there is nothing wrong with and take this money out of our pocket with this tremendous water rate that they imposed upon us. Us citizens who are on fixed incomes and cannot afford it. I cannot believe that the town would do this. We need to take care of the most important problems like the dirty water and the pressure problems. Please bring this to the attention of the people of Smithsburg. Something needs to be done with the runaway unnecessary spending."

"Does anybody know where we can something good to eat? It seems like everything is artificial. Potatoes, you can't find anything good to eat anymore. Everything has to be something quick. Does anybody in this area have any fresh potatoes, fresh meat or anything fresh and good to eat?"

"I want to know more information about the vinegar diet, how much you take and when you take it. Please call and give me that information."

"I read with interest about the administrators who got their hands dirty to make sure everything was in order for the opening of school at South High. Included in the list were a number of individuals from the central office."

"I'm calling to discuss the bathroom policies at Boonsboro High School. You can't go to the bathroom during class. If you go three times a year, in some classes it is a referral and you get punished. Some classes you can't go at all. Most of the time they try to go in between classes and that means the bathrooms are full. My daughter has a bladder problem and if she can't use the bathroom, I will personally sue them. They need to do something. There is no sense in the kids not being able to use the bathroom."

"I also drove along Sharpsburg Pike last week while the state crew was out. They were taking a scraper and pushing the grass back from the breakdown lane. I don't believe that grass can give you a flat tire. They only done about half of Sharpsburg Pike and if you drive along and look, you will see places where it doesn't look like they even scraped it at all. It was a huge waste of time and money. I don't know what this Mail Caller in Monday's Mail Call is talking about. You can't get a flat tire from grass and dirt and there was no glass there. If there was glass there it was probably pushed into the grass and it will be pushed right back on the road when it rains."

"I think that they should publish the names of all these kids over 13 that get in trouble. Then maybe there wouldn't be so much of it. Then maybe they wouldn't do so many things."

"Anyone witnessing a car accident on Monday, Aug. 30 at 4:45 p.m. at the corner of W. Washington St. and Burhans Boulevard, please call 301-797-0319."

"Can anybody give me a way to stop a single-family home into being turned into a three different apartments on a quiet street? If you can, leave it in Mail Call."
