Want to make the grade in the "treat" category? Here's this year's assignment - treat the kids to lunchbox snacks that are as easy as 1, 2, 3.

Kids like to find something special in their lunchbox. Give them a piece of home with quick and easy snacks made with sweetened condensed milk.

Candy Crunch, Double Delicious Cookie Bars and No-Bake Fudgy Brownies are the perfect answer to any test. Just don't forget to pack extras for sharing with classmates.

And, what better way to say "welcome home" than an after-school snack such as S'more Cookie Pizza or Purple Cows? These sweet surprises will make homework a little bit easier to complete.

Cookie BarsDouble Delicious Cookie Bars

  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine
  • 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 14-ounce can sweetened condensed milk
  • 12 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips *
  • 6 ounces peanut butter-flavored chips *

Preheat oven to 350 degrees, 325 degrees for glass dish. In 13-by-9-inch baking pan, melt butter in oven.

Sprinkle crumbs evenly over butter; pour sweetened condensed milk evenly over crumbs. Top with remaining ingredients; press down firmly with spoon.

Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool; cut into bars. Store covered at room temperature.

* Note: You may substitute butterscotch flavored chips or white chocolate chips for the semi-sweet chocolate chips and/or peanut butter chips.

For perfectly cut bars: Line entire pan with a sheet of aluminum foil first. When bars are baked, cool and lift up edges of foil to remove from pan. Cut into individual squares. Lift off foil.

Makes 24 bars.
