Suns score third straight shutout

CHARLESTON, S.C. - Pat Lynch and Orlando Woodards combined on a four-hitter as the Hagerstown Suns posted their third straight shutout while extending their scoreless streak to 28 innings in a 5-0 win over the Charleston RiverDogs Tuesday night in South Atlantic League action.

Lynch (9-5) allowed three hits in eight innings while striking out seven.

Felipe Lopez gave Hagerstown (74-47, 26-24) all it needed with a solo homer with two outs in the first inning.

Ryan Fleming doubled home two runs in the third inning. Justin Davies and Jorge Nunez had reached on errors.

Joe Dusan capped the scoring with an RBI groundout scoring Tyler Thompson, who had doubled, in the fourth inning and an RBI double scoring Thompson, who had walked, in the sixth inning.

Before the game, the Suns activated Pat Lynch and placed Thom Dreier on the disabled list retroactive to Aug. 13.
