Transit authority gets facility money

August 06, 1999

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - The federal transportation department released money Wednesday for an $845,000 grant that will allow the Eastern Panhandle Transit Authority to build its new office and garage complex, U.S. Sen. Bob Wise, D-W.Va., said.

The 2-acre facility will house offices, a waiting area, a conference room and a maintenance area for the eight public buses that run in Berkeley and Jefferson counties.

The money is part of a federal transportation bill that passed last fall, a spokesman for Wise said.
