Hagerstown City Police were called to direct traffic on Dual Highway at Eastern Boulevard after lighting that accompanied a brief rainfall shorted out traffic lights Wednesday evening.

Four officers were used to keep traffic moving, according Sgt. Kenneth Wasilius.

Maryland State Highway Administration crews were working late Wednesday to repair the lights, which went out around 9 p.m., he said.

Wasilius was unsure when the traffic lights would be operational.

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Borough police charged a Chambersburg man with carrying a firearm without a license after a traffic stop early Wednesday on the 1000 block of South Main Street.

The report said Antoine Hicks, 20, of 441 W. Washington St., was also charged with driving with a suspended license. The report said a 9mm Luger was found concealed in the battery compartment under the hood.


A magazine and boxes of ammunition were also found stuffed in and under the driver's seat of the car, police said.

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Pennsylvania State Police said Wednesday they were looking for a Waynesboro, Pa., man who took a car on a test drive Tuesday and failed to return it to the dealership.

The report said the 18-year-old man claimed he was was taking the car for a test drive and a garage appointment when he drove off from RP Motors, 1464 Lincoln Way East, in Guilford Township. The car was a black 1995 Eagle Talon with a rear wing, tinted rear windows and gold wheels.
