Washington Co. Girls Softball

Post 202 14, Rotary 9: Hannah Chambers and Beth Sterner combined for 11 strikeouts. Jennifer Cook had three hits, including a triple, Amanda Bingaman had two hits and Kate Pittman and Jamye Bartles each had two RBI for Post 202. Amanda McGee had two hits for Rotary.

Post 202 15, D.M. Bowman 0: Hannah Chambers and Bether Sterner combined for nine strikeouts while tossing a four-inning, one-hitter.

Williamsport Redmen 14, Bowman Trucking 11: Emily Shirk had four hits, including a homer, while Shannon Smiles and Christen Hobbs had three hits for Williamsport Redmen. Lee Graff had two hits and Megan Bishop had three hits, including a homer, for Bowman Trucking.


Funkstown 7, Brunswick 2

BRUNSWICK, Md. - Despite allowing eight walks, Billy Keyes pitched a three-hitter with five strikeouts as Funkstown defeated Brunswick in a Western Maryland District game.


Matt Jenkins had a two-run triple in the sixth, while Jon Showe had two hits and drove in a run for Funkstown (20-15, 3-7 second half).


Hagerstown Area Church Softball

Otterbein 24, Williamsport Assembly of God 12: Curt Graham had four hits, including a home run, to lead Otterbein. Josh Trumpower also had four hits, while Kevin Walters, Larry Wishard, Mike Burgman, Mike Johnston, and Richard Wilson all collected three hits.

Tri-State Fellowship 15, New Life 14: James Knodoe, Rich Hayes, Smiley Jackson, Tony Crawford, and Jim Knodoe all collected three hits to lead Tri-State Fellowship.

Hub City/Pinesburg Softball

Gold's Gym 18, Ollie's 8: Ryan Wilson had four hits, including two home runs, and Joey Reed, Brad Harvey and Sid Shupp each had three hits.

Pick's Place 26, Eddie's Upholstery 20: Pick's Place won the "A" division championship. Mick Byers, Rick Grove, Rocky Wills, Bill Bakner and Alan Harsh all had five hits.

Osborne/Richards Wilbert 17, Firestone 16: Slack Myers, Steve Hoover and Tommy Carter each had three hits, while Ed Ernst and Blaine Smith homered for Osborne.

Hagerstown Billiards and Cafe/Adam's Pizza 13, Miller Lite 11: Dewey Whitmore had three hits, including a homer, Denny Bryan, Johnny Parrott and Ian Largent had three hits, and Joey Springer had two hits for Hagerstown Billiards and Cafe. Eric Bender had four hits, including a homer, and Mark Baker had two hits for Miller Lite.
