Wreck kills one in Pa.

FAYETTEVILLE, Pa. - A Franklin County, Pa., man was killed Wednesday evening in a one-vehicle accident on Lincoln Way East in Greene Township, according to Franklin County Coroner Kenneth L. Peiffer.

The accident was report at 8:19 p.m. and occurred about half a mile east of Poorman's Pizzeria, 8228 Lincoln Way East, according to a Franklin County 911 dispatcher. Peiffer said he pronounced the man dead at the scene at 9:10 p.m.

Peiffer said the man was driving a Mercury Cougar that ran off the north side of the road and struck a tree with the driver's side door. The coroner said the man was pinned inside the vehicle.

Chief Deputy Coroner Jeffrey R. Conner was to notify the man's family, according to Peiffer. Conner could not be reached late Wednesday.

Pennsylvania State Police had not released a report on the accident and officers were still at the scene at 11 p.m.

Peiffer said the man had an address on Black Gap Road.
